Maintaining direction in tough times

During tough economic times, organizations must learn to do more with less. When an organization is stretched thin, decision making often becomes reactive and the organization spends most of its time in a crisis mode. At these times, it is more important than ever for an organization to develop a strategic plan. A strategic plan articulates the organization`s vision, mission, strategic priorities and core values. It remains the single best way to ensure sure that all stakeholders are on the same page about the organization`s future direction.

This session will explore a number of strategic planning models to help you decide which one is best suited for your organization. We will also explore the following topics:
- the board`s role in strategic planning
- the essential elements of a strategic plan
- effective ways to ensure that your plan is actually implemented
- securing buy-in for your strategic plan from all stakeholders

Attendees will walk away with a number of sample strategic plans as well as fresh ideas on how to kickstart or reinvigorate your strategic planning process.
