Take Control of Your Nonprofit Career Path

According to a recent report prepared by the Bridespan Group, by 2016 the nonprofit sector will need 80,000 new managers each year. This is 40% more than currently required. However, since nonprofits tend to look for talent outside their ranks, and fewer than a third of new hires are internal hires, most nonprofit employees do not have a clear career path inside their own organizations. This means that nonprofit staff members must work harder than ever to develop the skills and networks they will need to succeed.

In this session, we will cover topics including the following:

-          Ways to assess your potential for leadership roles
-          New ways to network, find mentors, and build relationships
-          Important credentials needed to move ahead in the nonprofit sector
-          Creating Career goals
-          Ways to avoid career “ruts”
-          Tips on Negotiating pay raises and promotions

This session is intended for all nonprofit and development professionals interested in moving their careers to the next level.
