Joe Shulka has more than 20 years of experience working in fundraising and membership management. As the Director of the Annual Fund at the Animal Humane Society, one the nations largest animal welfare organizations, Joe is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for cultivating and soliciting nearly 45,000 donors using direct mail, telephone, and electronic media. In his first year at AHS, Joe increased revenue from direct mail by 20% and tripled online fundraising revenue. Prior to this role, Joe managed the annual fund at Planned Parenthood Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota and directed membership services for the Minnesota Medical Association. Joe is also co-founder and serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Center for Homicide Research, a national research and education nonprofit focusing on homicide in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community.
