After the program, you'll have a better understanding of (i) planned giving principles and practices, and (ii) how to implement a successful planned giving program. This session is designed for intermediate to advanced fundraisers.
Joseph G. Hodges Jr., a graduate of Lake Forest College and CU Law School, is a solo practitioner with offices in Denver and Dillon, Colorado. He concentrates his law practice in estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable planned giving, foundations and general non-profit corporate compliance matters. He is a Fellow and Past Regent of the American College of Trusts and Estate Counsel, a member and past Council member of the ABA Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and a member of the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable, the National Committee on Planned Giving and the Denver Estate Planning Council. Joe has had numerous opportunities to address planned giving issues during his 30-year legal carrier, both with his own planning clients and as a past Board member of CPGR, plus as current member of the Colorado Leave a Legacy Committee, where the concepts of planned gifts are being fostered.
Following twenty years as a banking professional, George entered the fundraising profession in January of 1999. His first position was the Director of Planned Giving and Major Gifts for Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas. During that time utilizing his marketing and business skills he developed a comprehensive planned giving program for the University. Utilizing his strategic planning and marketing skills his work contributed significantly toward raising nearly twenty million dollars during the capital campaign launched within one year from his arrival. He has significant experience in cultivating and enlisting donor support for all departments of two Universities. In his current position he is responsible for the planned giving program and anticipates being the major fundraiser in the next capital campaign. George is a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals and the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable.
Our unique one-on-one mentoring sessions offer you the opportunity to sit down with an experienced fundraising professional for 30 minutes to discuss any questions that are specific to your organization. Mentoring sessions cover the same topics as the seminars, and we will assign you a mentor based on his/her availability at your requested times.
Mentoring sessions are available for the cost of $ per session. If you register for a full Summit pass, mentoring sessions are included in the pass.
