Johnna began consulting with McWhinney in 2001 and then joined the team as Senior Vice President of People Services and Company Coach in 2003. When The McWhinney Foundation was formed in 2005, Johnna became it’s Executive Director as well. The mission of the McWhinney Foundation is to enhance the lives of families, promote sustainable development, and enhance the capacity of non- profit organizations..Johnna is also the President/Owner of The People Business, Inc., a national consulting firm specializing in training and organizational development celebrating it’s 25th anniversary. She has enjoyed long-term consulting relationships with numerous local and national companies, non profit organizations and public entities. Johnna is a fourth generation Coloradoan, and has been an active volunteer as Foothills Rotary Club President, President of The Gardens On Spring Creek, and founding member of The International Museum of Women. Johnna loves and lives the outdoor Colorado lifestyle!
Prior to joining the Institute, Tina was the associate director for the National Tribal Justice Resource Center, a training and technical assistance provider for tribal justice systems, located in Boulder, CO. She has over 25 years of experience working with various tribes and tribal organizations in a number of different areas. In the past, she has been employed as a tribal court administrator and clerk of courts, a planner and economic developer, a health planner, a legal analyst, a Job Training and Partnership Act program director, and a grant writer. She continues to serve as a grant reviewer for a number of federal programs. She is a licensed attorney in the State of Maine and with several tribal courts. Tina also has an MBA from the University Of Maine at Orono and a BA from Dartmouth College in Hanover,
Deidre Johnson, a program officer with The Colorado Trust, is responsible for working with the children’s health community to significantly increase and expand health coverage and care for children throughout Colorado. Deidre formerly served as Vice President of Development and Marketing for Qualistar Early Learning, as a senior consultant with JVA Consulting, and she held various leadership positions in development and communications with the Urban League of Metropolitan Denver, the Mile High Child Care Association and the Colorado I Have a Dream Foundation. A Denver native, Deidre holds an A.B. in English from Princeton University and a Master’s of Public and Private Management from Yale University. She currently serves on the alumnae advisory board of St. Mary’s Academy and the President’s Community Advisory Board for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Deidre is a member of the Leadership Denver class of 2007.
Josephine Jones directs literary, cultural and historical programs for Colorado Humanities and oversees the administration of program and research grants. Josephine has been involved in the public humanities in the West for seventeen years as a speaker, discussion leader, program director, editor, teacher, fundraiser, marketing consultant, and writer. In addition to producing countless programs, she directed two statewide Idaho Lewis and Clark Bicentennial programs and coordinated Idaho`s largest literary festival, the Log Cabin Literary Center’s BookFest.
Lee has nearly 30 years of experience in the management of nonprofit organizations. He has worked in city and county government and for the Oregon State Health Division as a regional manager for emergency medical services. From 1981 until 2000 he was the Executive Director of the United Way of Walla Walla Washington. During his 19 years in Walla Walla he chaired several local and state advisory councils and coalitions, such as the Walla Walla Domestic Violence Coalition, the Walla Walla Homeless Coalition, the Dept. of Health & Human Services Regional Advisory Council and the Washington State Council on Voluntary Action. In 2000 moved to Denver, where worked as Deputy Director and eventually Executive Director for the Investment Management Consultants Association. Lee has been Executive Director of The Summit Foundation located in Breckenridge, Colorado since September 2006; since 1986 The Foundation has awared over $10 million in grants.
Our unique one-on-one mentoring sessions offer you the opportunity to sit down with an experienced fundraising professional for 30 minutes to discuss any questions that are specific to your organization. Mentoring sessions cover the same topics as the seminars, and we will assign you a mentor based on his/her availability at your requested times.
Mentoring sessions are available for the cost of $ per session. If you register for a full Summit pass, mentoring sessions are included in the pass.
