Leigh is the Director of Foundation Relations at the University of Denver, where she is responsible for meeting annual fundraising objectives of at least $3 million. In this position, Leigh works with faculty and staff from all areas of the University to pursue financial support from local and national foundations. Leigh came to the Denver area after earning her M.A. at the University of Tennessee. Before coming to DU, she was at the Epilepsy Foundation of Colorado and JVA Consulting, LLC.
In her current position, Mary engages youth in school-based service learning initiatives to address environmental, health and social issues in their communities. Mary is committed to mission driven grants support that is guided by program staff input. Mary came to FREF from Sisters of Color United for Education, a Denver health promotion organization where she served as Development Director from 2005-2009. In addition to doubling the organizational budget through successful grantwriting, she led the effort to acquire SISTERS` West Denver facility in February 2007 securing both grant funding and short term financing for its purchase and renovation. She is an accomplished grant writer and non-profit program manager who brings technical writing, financial planning, and program design skills to her fundraising activity.
Chet Tchozewski is the founder and President of the Global Greengrants Fund -- an international environmental foundation that makes small grants to grassroots environmental groups in developing nations around the globe. He is a co-founder of Grantmakers without Borders and was on the initiating committee of the Global Philanthropy Forum. He serves on the Council on Foundations Board of Directors and as Chair of the CoF International Committee. Previously, Chet served as the Executive Director of Greenpeace - Pacific Southwest regional office in San Francisco, on the staff of the American Friends Service Committee and co-founded the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center. Chet received the Council on Foundation prestigious Robert Scrivner Award for Creative Philanthropy. The award honors grantmakers who "possess a combination of vision, principle and personal commitment to making a difference in a creative way through grantmaking."
Our unique one-on-one mentoring sessions offer you the opportunity to sit down with an experienced fundraising professional for 30 minutes to discuss any questions that are specific to your organization. Mentoring sessions cover the same topics as the seminars, and we will assign you a mentor based on his/her availability at your requested times.
Mentoring sessions are available for the cost of $60.00 per session. If you register for a full Summit pass, 2 mentoring sessions are included in the pass.
