Obtaining money from the corporate sector can be tricky, and sometimes the only way to understand how it is done is to see successful partnerships at work. In this session, you'll closely examine three case studies to get real life feedback on how winning corporate-nonprofit relationships actually work. We will look at the following:
- Corporate sponsorship case study
- Cause marketing case study
- Multi-year corporate grant case study

Speakers for this session:

Claire Douglass
Partnerships Director
Carbonfund.org

Claire has been involved in development for five years. In her current position, she is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, expand and promote Carbonfund.org's corporate partners. Previously, as Maryland and DC State Director at Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Claire worked with the corporate community developing and implementing statewide strategies to pass the Healthy Air Act, Clean Cars Bill, and the Global Warming Solutions Act. She expanded the volunteer base and individual supporters, lobbied state officials, was a founding member of the Maryland Global Warming Alliance, a diverse coalition of stakeholders committed to taking action at the policy level on climate change. Claire currently serves as Partnerships Director and oversees the all business programs and partnerships in her department. She earned BA in Environmental Studies and Public Policy from University of Colorado at Boulder.

Andrew Uscher
Director of Corporate Relations
Senior Executives Association

Andrew has been involved in fundraising for 10 years. In his current position, he is responsible for establishing and running the Corporate Advisory Board for the Senior Executives Association where he is responsible for working with corporate partners to help increase fundraising contributions. He is the Principal at the Partnership for Public Service Standing Panel of Executive Organization and Management. He is a member of the National Academy of Public Administration, an Adjunct professor at George Washington and George Mason Universities, Officer at the Brookings Institution Inter-agency seminar group, and the Editor/Referee for Management Sciences Magazine. He earned PHD in Public Administration from George Washington and a MBA in Decision Analysis from Wharton.
