Winning a grant isn't easy and often the process of writing a proposal seems intimidating. Most of the difficulty comes from not knowing what exactly goes into an effective proposal. This session will cover the following topics:
  •  The essential components of a grant proposal package
  •  Important writing techniques that make your proposal stand out from the pile
  •  Layout and design of a strong proposal
  •  Customizing a proposal to match a grant maker's interest and using your proposal as a relationship building tool
You'll go back to the office with a well honed plan for ensuring that your proposals cover the right bases every time.

Catherine Tijerina
Executive Director
The RIDGE Project, Inc

Catherine has been doing proposal writing since 1999. She is an accomplished grant writer with eighty percent of her proposals funded, and over $9.5 million in grant awards within five years. Catherine also has extensive experience as a grant reviewer. She has served on grant review committees for the Ohio Department of Health, US Dept of HHS Maternal and Child Health Bureau, US Dept of HHS Administration for Children and Families, and the Center for Disease Control. She is an accomplished trainer in grant writing, and organizational and programmatic development. Under her leadership, her company has received national attention as a “best practices” for youth development programs. Catherine received her Paralegal Certificate after attending the Blackstone School of Law, and is listed on the Who’s Who among business and professionals.
