Charlie Brown has helped nonprofits strengthen their boards through board member recruitment and helping board members become effective fundraisers. Charlie started in institutional advancement as a member of the Annual Giving staff at his alma mater, Princeton University. At Princeton, Charlie learned the art and science of fundraising. He then served as the chief development officer for The Lawrenceville School, where he led a capital campaign for $125 million, at that time the largest amount ever raised by a secondary school. He founded Brown Schroeder & Associates to provide strategic interventions for nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and abroad, focusing on development planning and executive search.
