Twitter is a great way to build a following for your organization. Keeping in regular contact with your supporters has been demonstrated to produce higher attendance at events, and better responses to fundraising appeals. Twitter enables you to post links, share information and create awareness about anything that your organization considers important. In this session we will cover the following:

•       How to get started with Twitter
•       How it works, who’s using it, and the different ways it can be used
•       Twitter advantages of over other types of communication
•       Devising new content and engagement tactics to create buzz around your event
•       Utilizing TweetMyEvents

Hope has been involved in direct / interactive marketing for 15 years and has been recognized as Chicago’s top 25 Most Influential Women in Social Media. Most recently she’s become well versed with Social Media, drawing hundreds of people to Windy City Social and Kenmore Live Studio events using Facebook, Twitter, viral videos and by creating strategic alliances with brands such as Whole Foods and Broadway in Chicago. Previously, as the Interactive / Direct Marketer at Several Fortune 500 companies such as General Electric, Discover Card and Sears Holdings, Hope was responsible for creating winning email, telemarketing and direct mail campaigns. Hope currently serves as Social Media Buzz Team for American Marketing Association. She earned Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and a BA in Communications Studies from University of Iowa. She is a member of The Chicago American Marketing Association, the Chicago Interactive Marketing Association and Social Media Club Chicago.

Mana developed a widely-used Twitter and Facebook training program to help businesses and organizations establish a daily social media management routine. Recently Mana offered Twitter 101 classes to 20 Episcopal Ministries in the Chicago area. She earned two BA's in Journalism & Political Science from American University in Bulgaria and an MA in Mass Communication from Brigham Young University. She is a member of Local First Chicago, a contributing writer for the Twitter Tips digital publication Twittip.com and a social media expert contributor on Focus.com.

In his current position, he uses Twitter to promote Cision's products, events and thought leadership materials such as white papers, webinars and blog posts. He has also used Twitter to develop relationships with journalists and online influencers. He has spoken on social media strategy at various conferences and his articles on using Twitter for engagement and measurement have been published in PR Week, PR News, SocialTimes.com, MarketingProfs.com and SocialMediaToday.com. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
