Rick has been involved in leadership roles in nonprofit organizations for 20 years and university teaching roles for 6 years. In his current position, Rick teaches nonprofit law, human resource management, marketing and business law. Additionally, Rick consults with small sized nonprofit organizations in the areas of board development, fundraising and strategic planning. Previously, as President at The ALS Association MA Chapter, Rick spent nearly eight years focusing his efforts on funding and finding a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease. He oversaw a staff of 14 and led a board of 18 volunteers. He is credited with establishing the first-ever state-wide registry in Massachusetts for Lou Gehrig's disease. In addition to day-to-day operations and oversight, he significantly increased the volume of patient services programs and outreach efforts. Rick currently serves as Adjunct Professor for Northeastern University, College of Professional Studies, Bryant University, Merrimack College, and Bay Path College. He earned Juris Doctor in Family Law from Massachusetts School of Law and B.S. in Human Resource Management from Palm Beach Atlantic College. He is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.
Sondra has been involved in Philanthropic Development for 15 years. Currently as a private consultant, she works in depth with nonprofit organizations on board development, specifically in board organization, member role and responsibility, 'tribal' engagement, board recruitment, policy development and board training. Previously, as Vice President at Eastern Connecticut Health Network Community Healthcare Foundation, Sondra was responsible for board development, where she successfully reorganized and reengaged an 18 member board of directors to achieve growth and increased philanthropy for the ECHN Foundation. Before that, she worked as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Connecticut Childrens Medical Center where she was responsible for corporate relations, national corporate philanthropy programs, corporate social responsibility, grants administration. Sondra currently serves as a private consultant for East Hartford Chamber of Commerce and The Hospital for Special Care. She is a member of Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Darcy routinely consults on board training, general fundraising counsel, capital campaigns, feasibility studies, event planning, public relations, and planned giving. Her experience spans nearly 20 years of working directly with boards of nonprofit organizations, universities, secondary schools, and museums. Lee was the Chief Development Officer for the Center for Women & Enterprise, where she was a senior manager who oversaw a budget of $2.5 million for offices in Boston and Worcester and Providence, RI. Her team raised $2.1 million with the assistance of the board and volunteers. Before that, she was Campaign & Development Director at Pilgrim Hall Museum where she successfully directed the $3.4 million Campaign for Pilgrim Hall Museum over goal to its $4 million conclusion, which included a board challenge that raised more than $1 million. Darcy currently serves as Board Member for Plymouth Rotary Club, Plymouth Philharmonic Development Committee, and White Cliffs Ladies Golf Committee. She is a member of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, Association of Fundraising Professionals, The Pilgrim Society, Women in Development of Greater Boston, Rotary International, New England Museum Association and the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce. She earned a BA in History from Marymount College.
Jonathan has been involved in development for 34 years. In his current position, he is responsible for working with boards at various not-for-profits in fundraising, training boards in fundraising techniques and understanding how fundraising is a key element of the leadership experience. He conducts board training exercises, with special emphasis on the role of boards of directors. He is a member of the Board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Connecticut Chapter, where he is constantly reminding board members to act responsibly. He earned PhD in English from Michigan State University, and a Bachelors of Arts in English from City College of New York. He is a member of Planned Giving Group of Connecticut, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Parking at the Simmons College Due to limited parking in the urban area around Simmons, we encourage visitors to use alternative transportation when commuting to Simmons. Limited parking is available on nearby streets and private garages. There are three parking garages in the area: Simmons Garage [P1 on map]
Directions to Simmons Garage from Venue: Turn left on Avenue Louis Pasteur. Proceed past the Simmons’s library and the Park Science Bldg which will be on the left. Enter the next driveway on the left where there is a sign that reads, Simmons Garage. The entrance is between the Boston Latin School and the Park Science Center. The road dead ends at the parking garage.
