Dennis Chamberland
Principal
Chamberland Consulting

Dennis has been involved in fundraising for over 19 years. In his current position, he is responsible for helping nonprofits realize higher levels of success and financial sustainability. Previously, as Assistant Dean at Chapman University School of Law, Dennis was the Chief Development Officer responsible for all aspects of donor identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and relationship stewardship. Before that, he worked as Director of Institutional Advancement at University of Southern Nevada where he was responsible for the creation, implementation and management of the University-wide Advancement Department. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of San Diego and a Fellowship in Institutional Advancement from Vanderbilt University and is near completion of his Masters of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from New England College. He is a member of the Professional Speakers on Philanthropy, Association of Proposal Management Professionals, Innovative Fundraising & Philanthropic Innovation Network, People to People Fundraising Network, Legacy/Estate/Gift Planning and Planned Giving Professionals Group, Nonprofit and Charity Network, Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and currently sits on the board of Nourish Interactive Foundation.

Lynn Engel
Annual Giving Manager
Samaritan House

Lynn has been involved in fundraising for 12+ years. In her current position, she is responsible for designing and coordinating a comprehensive annual fundraising program for individual and corporate donors. She creates an annual strategic plan for direct-mail campaigns, manages new donor acquisition efforts and identifies annual donors for campaign solicitation. Lynn also facilitates and supports a dynamic group of Samaritan House volunteers to ensure financial goals are met and provides a quality volunteer experience. She also creates unique and effective promotional and solicitation materials that achieve targeted goals. Previously, as the Campaign Manager and Events Coordinator at The Hillsborough Schools Foundation, Lynn was responsible for supporting and motivating 100+ volunteers per year to undertake the Foundation's parent and community annual fundraising campaigns and four fundraising events. Before that, she worked as the Recruitment Manager at Spectrum Center for Educational & Behavioral Development where she was responsible for managing and coordinating the agency's recruitment for all open positions. Lynn earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona. She is a member of the University of Arizona National Alumni Governing Board of Directors and currently serves as the Membership Chair.

Robb Hermanson

YMCA of Silicon Valley

Robb has been in development for 28 years. Serving as the current CDO for the YMCA, Robb is responsible for organizing and managing a $3 million annual gving campaign and directing a $20 million capital development project, in addition to oversight and direction for the Y's $7 million endowment program. Prior to San Jose, Robb served 14 years with the YMCA in Denver, Colorado, including branch executive where he managed day to day operations of a $1.5 million budget, Robb earned his Bachelors Degree in Health and Sports Medicine from University of Northern Colorado. Robb is past chair of the YMCA's Development Officers Council and past chair for the organization's annual conference in 2002. Robb is past president and member of his local Rotary Club and the Silicon Valley Chapter of AFP. In 2011 Robb will serve as Conference Chair for the National YMCAs Urban Group organization and currently serves as chair for the reginonal network of YMCA Development Officers for Northern California. In 2001, Robb received AFP - Silicon Valley Chapter's Outstanding Professional Fundraiser award and in 2008 was presented the Silicon Valley Outstanding Community Leadership Award.
