Hagar has been involved in fundraising and business development for educational organizations for over 7 years. In her current position, she is responsible for raising $3.4 million to support Summer Search programming throughout the Bay Area. To raise this money, she engages a portfolio of 2,000+ unique donors through grants, sponsorships, moves management, and events. She also manages a staff of four people, and partners with three Executive Directors and Boards in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and the North Bay. Previously, Hagar was an Independent Fundraising Consultant on grant writing, strategic revenue planning, budget and systems development, and staff training. Before that, she worked as the Senior Development Director at Jumpstart for Young Children, Inc. where she was responsible for increasing regional fundraising from $1.6 to $3.6 million in private and government funds over three years. Hagar earned a Masters of Arts in Education from Stanford University in 2010 and a Bachelors of Arts in English from Wesleyan University in 2002.
Michael has been involved in development for eight years. In his current position, he is responsible for serving as the chief executive officer of a K-5 school support nonprofit that has grown by 800 percent over four years to become the largest organization of its kind in the country, with offices in Oakland, Silicon Valley, Los Angles, and Washington DC. Michael acts as the overall executive manager for a staff of 60, conducting high-level fund development and personally managing a team of three full time fundraisers. Previously, as Director of Development and College Relations for the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley, Michael was responsible for managing a portfolio of high capacity foundations and individual donors interested in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Before that, he worked as Director of Scholarships at UC Berkeley's Alumni Association where he was responsible for overseeing a $34M scholarship program and partnering with Central Development to cultivate major gifts from foundations and individuals. Michael currently serves as an advisory board member for the Foundation for Self-Reliance and the Daily Californian Education Foundation. He earned a BA in History and English from the University of Michigan.
Zeke has been involved in development for 10 years. In his current position, he is responsible for obtaining foundation grants, strengthening major donor development, marketing, public relations and events. Previously, as Director of Asset Management at Community Housing Partnership, Zeke was responsible for asset and risk management of a 100M+ real estate portfolio owned/managed by nonprofit housing provider Community Housing Partnership, as well as organizational strategic planning and generating grant proposals. Before that, Zeke worked as Director of Administration at Community Housing Partnership where he was responsible for corporate governance, finance, and human resources. Zeke earned a Masters of Arts in Anthropology from University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy of Religion from Wesleyan University. While newer to fund development than many, Zeke has been involved in nonprofit work for 20 years, including ten years in senior management with Community Housing Partnership. During his tenure with this organization, Community Housing Partnership has tripled in size and achieved national recognition for its many pioneering successes in the field.
Our unique one-on-one mentoring sessions offer you the opportunity to sit down with an experienced fundraising professional for 30 minutes to discuss any questions that are specific to your organization. Mentoring sessions cover the same topics as the seminars, and we will assign you a mentor based on his/her availability at your requested times.
Mentoring sessions are available for the cost of $60.00 per session. If you register for a full Summit pass, 2 mentoring sessions are included in the pass.
